Some recent updates on my life.
I realised it has been a quite awhile since i last updated about my life. While some recent changes here and there include the fact that i am now UNEMPLOYED ! Yes you read it correctly...as of the 23rd of june being my last day at work,i am no longer a staff of the Singapore Zoo. In view of the fact that i will be starting school come the end of july or early august,i decided to quit with effect on the 24th of june to give myself approximately 1 mth of break as i re-adjust myself to life back at school. The reason i chose the 23rd as my final day at work was because our pay is credited on the 4th of every month and the 24th is the start of a new financial month so i decided might as well just quit at the end of the financial month of may-june so that i can have a proper last pay check=P.
Speaking about starting school, just to sidetrack abit,i have secured a place in SIM's tie up with UOL for the banking and finance course. This course will take me 3 yrs to complete and hopefully at the end of it,i will be able to obtain a good honour's degree since the course is a direct honours one.
Now back to me quitting my job. Well, the last few days at work were pretty emotional for me,not that i cried and stuff but rather i just felt a sense of sadness as i bid the animals at AFS goodbye. Looking back, during my almost 7mths of work at the zoo,the things that i had grown attached to over there were suprisingly not the people but rather the animals. I have come to know the people there as pretty much a bunch of hypocrites with loads of b##stards amongst them. But then of course there were the people whom i truly admired, people who were dedicated to their job and who went about their daily duties simply for the love of the animals there. Many a times,i found myself talking to the animals especially the lovable dogs as i felt that they were the ones who would ever so willingly listen to you and basically what you saw out of them is their true character and nature. ( a dog will just pee and shit as and when it pleases) Prior to my last show,i could still recall how i was talking to smudge our border collie and she was just laying on my lap and there was this point of time when she just used her paws and gave me a pat, seemingly as though she could understand what i was saying. Well perhaps she really did and indeed, the bond i had forged with all of them doggies were simply priceless. Moving on,i will definately miss that place with it's animals and some of the people who work there. Will definately return in the future to pay them all a visit=). And of course i would like to extend a big thank you to all those who came down to the zoo some way or another and who visited me deliberately or coincidentally-- people like my entire family,my beloved girlfriend Steffi and her brother, my best girl-friend SL and my cousin Jesslyn=). You guys simply made my day working at the zoo!
As for my social life,i'm still happily attached as ever to my lovely girlfriend. Well,it has been slightly over 5 mths now and i can confidently say that things are going on very well for the both of us. Just on monday she even helped me out with the re-setup of my fish tank at home. I was very glad that she didn't mind the dirt and was ever so willing to lend me a hand, even to the extent of helping me to clean up the kitchen sink after we were done! It's really nice to see a loved one who would so eagerly participate and try out new things, especially if it is something that you personally desire. Well,i would have done the same too if it was something she liked and i believe that all these are only possible if love and understanding was present in a relationship between 2 people=).(will post some pictures of the tank that WE built together)
